5 Things to consider when choosing balloon decor for your event.
5 Things to consider when Choosing Balloon Decorations for your event.
1- Space
Where do you envision your guests having a WOW moment? Front door, Entry hallway, down a staircase, in the pool, on the garage on the ceiling? The possibilities are endless but when booking your balloon request, it helps your Balloon Stylist be able to determine what type of tools; ladder, hooks and supplies to attach and connect the garland/ balloons to the space. This also plays into pricing.
2- Inside or Outside
Either is fine but depends on the time of year and your location. In California we’re fortunate enough that most balloons can withstand the elements when properly attached outside. Although on those very hot summer days dark colors are NOT an option as they will start popping like popcorn. Sadly not a win for the client or stylist.
3- Colors
When booking your request it helps everyone to send a sample of the invite or the mood boards for your event. Even if It’s a photo of the charger plate or napkins. We can pull the colors and have an instant understanding of the tones and colors by seeing an element related to your event. New colors are being launched monthly from the top balloon manufacturers. Creating a custom color could be an option by double stuffing balloons together (2 balloons in one to create a unique shade or color) Keep in mind these are beautiful but do cost more time and money so be prepared to get that quote and not let your jaw drop.
4- Style
Many balloon artists have a unique style. Find one that aligns with your similar style or aesthetics for your event. Instagram is the best way to preview the stylists portfolio but keep in mind many balloon artists are versatile in their style. If you find someone always send inspiration photos. Ask yourself, Why do I like this photo? Various sized balloons, the colors, the mix of large and small sizes, the flow, the added elements; flowers, vinyl (customization). There are so many elements that can be added into your organic balloon decor.
5- Setup & Break Down
This is SO important! Some of the things that you must consider and be able to give information to the stylist are the following:
Is there a designated loading/ unloading area (provide map)
Onsite contact person (if it’s not you)
Discuss ahead of time where you want the balloons placed for setup onsite
Example; if the artist is installing onto a step and repeat backdrop- Please confirm it will be setup prior to their arrival time. Time is money and on the weekends our schedules are overlapping with limited time to get to the next event.
Always allow enough time ahead for setup (options can be the night before if possible)
Provide the ending time of your event or if the venue must close or shuts down at a specific time provide that in your inquiry.
